1/9/2023 0 Comments Rewire vst hostif you want to add an audio effect to a Reason instrument, you can. The other reason there's no joy is because you can only have ONE channel working this way, at least with Saffire Pro 14. Trying to get the latency low on that without clicks and pops is hard. That's a lot of audio latency that adds up. However, once you start routing audio effects this way, the latency gets quite high, so don't expect it work "live": Audio has to go from Reason->DAW->Reason->Audio card. And you can use those same capabilities to route audio from reason into your DAW, use the Wave plugins, and then route the audio back to Reason. It's an awesome card to use if you want to control VST *instruments* from within Reason (i.e. I use Saffire Pro 14 audio card, which has great dawdaw loopback capabilities. The short answer is that you CAN get your Waves plugins to work without Rewire, but there's no joy in it.
